The cross roller bearing has one of its most valuable features the ability to withstand radial thrust and over turning moment loads-separately or simultaneously. It is able to accomplish this feat because of the orientation of its rollers. The direction of each axis of each roller is alternated. When viewing the cross section of the bearings the axis of the roller is slanting from top right to bottom left.
Other Features of the cross roller bearings are compactness, elimination of two or more bearings from the assembly (which reduces the weight and price and allows more space for other components) and an overall simplification of design.
Applications: radar mounts, all types of machine tools, gun turrets, crane kingposts, power shovels, Truck cranes, Index Tables and countless other applications
